The theme for the 1997 Paul Broennimann Prize is:

Paleoenvironmental Interpretation based on the study of foraminifera.

2000 Swiss Francs are given for the best paper to an author younger than 35
years and attached to some official research institution. Scientists of all
nationalities and countries of residence are invited to submit their
manuscript (dealing with some aspect of the wide general theme given for
1997)  before 30 Sept. 1997 to
