cephalopod parasites

Some parasites have a step in their life cycle with a large number of
larvae emerging from an intermediate host. If the larvae matured at the
same rate as the ammonite and occasionally accidentally emerged into the
body chamber instead of out to the ocean, might the ammonite have encased
the strays in nacre?
