Professor of Invertebrate Paleontology and Paleoclimatology at the University of Tuebingen, Germany The University of Tuebingen invites applications for a tenure-track position as Professor of Invertebrate Paleontology and Paleoclimatology at the Institute of Geosciences. The position must be filled starting 1 October 2003. Teaching responsibilities and research area should include modern applications of paleoecology, biosedimentology, paleoclimatology and biostratigraphy. International research activities and the development of a research group, supported primarily by grants from the DFG or other research organizations is expected. Interdisciplinary research, especially in the new interdisciplinary research program 'Evolution of the Organisms and Biogeosphere Dynamics' (EBID) administered jointly by the University of Tuebingen Biology and the Geoscience departments is desired. Requirements include a habilitation or comparable academic qualification. The University wishes to increase the number of women scientists and especially encourages applications from qualified women. It is possible to divide the position for two applicants in case of private restrictions. Severely handicapped applicants qualified for the position are preferred. Junior scientists are invited to apply, but should expect employment will be on a tenure-track basis. Exceptions to this rule are possible in the case of foreign applicants who do not come from another German university.
