Position Openings: Cincinnati Museum Center

Invertebrate Paleontology Collections Manager.  Manager needed for a 29,000
specimen collection with an emphasis on the Cincinnatian. (See our website

Responsibilities include preparing, cataloguing and storing specimens,
computer data entry, facilitating use of the collections for research,
teaching and exhibits, and supervision of volunteers.  Immediate
responsibilities will include assisting in the implementation of an
NSF/RCSE grant to incorporate 200,000 additional specimens from an existing
collection into the Museum. Masters degree in paleontology (or equivalent)
or a related field required. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in
paleontology, and collections management theory and practice.  Experience
working in museum or university collections highly desirable.

Invertebrate Paleontology Assistant Collections Manager.  This eighteen
month appointment is funded in conjunction with an NSF/RCSE grant award.
Possibility of extension with further grant support.  The assistant
collections manager's responsibilities will revolve around the transfer of
a 200,000 collection to CMC: inventorying and moving material, preparing
and conserving specimens.  Bachelors degree in geology, biology or a
related field required.  Knowledge of paleontology specimens necessary,
preparation and conservation training and practice desirable.
