Norm - I think charging is a good thing. The Victorian concept of the museum was
largely educational, so charging was inappropriate. But if the moden
post-Thatcher idea is that Museums are places of leisure and entertainment,
charging is entirely appropriate. After all, you don't get into the cinema for
free, either.
