Gary: I have recently written a review (Or. Geol.) of an excellent publication by Steven Manchester, "Fruits and Seeds of the Middle Eocene Nut Beds Flora, Clarno Formation, Oregon". 1994. Palaeontographica Americana, Number 58. This has the best plates & taxonomic revisions that one could want; also complete literature to get to the older material, such as Bone's classic color atlas of the nuts (now systematically obsolete). Steve's work is principally concerned with the classic "Nut Beds" site, but other localities outside the national monument are reviewed as well. cheers Ted Fremd Paleontologist John Day Fossil Beds National Monument HCR82 Box126 Kimberly, OR 97848 "For all you do, this bed's for you" ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: Clarno Beds Author: gar@eznet.net at NP--INTERNET Date: 11/23/95 10:55 PM Would anyone have references to papers published on the fossil seeds and nuts from the Clarno formation. I am particulairly interested in references which aid in identification of seeds and nuts. Thanks Gary gar@eznet.net
