Can someone tell me if tax payers money goes to the AMNH as I thought 
it was a private museum funded by sponsors?  In spite of not being an 
American, I would have thought that the letters would be better 
addressed to the SIMNH (Smithsonian) in Washington DC as they are 
supposed to be government sponsored.

Being involved in fossil collecting legislation in Scotland (in a 
small way) I would also like to be able to help influence the 
public's perception of our global fossil heritage (even in some 
limited fashion) which would benefit all concerned.
