Try the Trilobites2 list. These people are really active, and range
from newbeys to university profs, and everyone in between. This list can
give your students a great experience with people who are really interested
in trilobites. The discussions are sometimes quite technical, but
everyone is approachable. The photo galleries are superb, and the links
section is enough to keep your students busy for a long time. I give the
group a 5-star rating.

Subject: paleonet Good paleo lists for
lurking students
Folks,
I have a small paleontology class (6
students). I want them to get a
feel for some good paleo lists.
I have asked them all to join this
list, but I would like them also to try
another list. The problem is I
want a list that is active on topic
and one that might interest
undergrads. I am asking them to lurk (not
post).
I know of a number of lists, but a lot of them like the two
paleobotany
lists I am on are quite dead. I am not sure I have
received a message
from the British paleobotany list in more than a
year. I suggested the
dinosaur list. I think that one is quite
active and would be
interesting, but what about the vertebrate paleo list
fairly acitve? I
have heard about that one but have never joined.
