Students (and those who know of displaced students):
California State University, Stanislaus is eager to accept displaced students; tuition will be waived. Classes just started yesterday so you won't be very behind. Additionally, there is still room in my Dinosaur and Sedimentary geology classes! CSU Stanislaus is in Turlock, in the Central Valley about 2 hrs from San Francisco to the west and 2 hrs from Yosemite to the east. Many other CSU campuses are also accepting students.

Subject: paleonet Katrina imagery and students
NOAA has satellite imagery of areas affected by hurricane Katrina on their website now.
Displaced college students are generously being taken in by schools across the U.S., in some cases waiving academic records or tuition. If you are a displaced student, the best advice is to contact a college or university near your home or in your area of specialization without delay, so as to continue your education without interruption.
Best wishes,
Andy
