Full Professorship in Vertebrate Paleontology / Bonn Germany

The Institute of Palaeontology of the University of Bonn invites
applications for a Full Professorship in Vertebrate Paleontology. The
successful candidate will be expected to commence employment in October
2006, following the retirement of Prof. Dr. W. von Koenigswald.
 The successful candidate is expected to cover the field of palaeontology
in the current Diploma Degree program  in geology/palaeontology and in the
planned Bachelor´s and Master's degrees in geology and biology.

 To complement the wide range of research fields represented in the
Institute of Palaeontology, we seek an internationally recognized
vertebrate palaeontologist, preferably with an emphasis on mammalian
evolution in her/his research. We expect active cooperation with the other
research groups in the Institute of Palaeontology and the Geological
Institute as well as with research groups in the School of Biology in a
planned Centre for the Study of Evolution and Biodiversity and in the
Master's program to be offered in this field.

 Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Geology/Palaeontology and the German
³Habilitation" degree or must demonstrate equivalent scientific credentials.

 The University of Bonn strongly encourages females to apply. Handicapped
