This year the choice was between subscribing to 'Science' and 'Nature' (total approximately £250 for the year), or a new refrigerator for the kitchen. Just installed the fridge and I've still got £40 to pay to get rid of the old one. As someone who maintains a strong interest in what I studied at university, but don't actually work with, I find online publications and the like of Palaeo.Electro. to be really useful. At least I can claim the GeolSoc dues back on expenses. -- Aidan Karley, Aberdeen, Scotland, Location: 57°10'11" N, 02°08'43" W (sub-tropical Aberdeen), 0.021233
