       I'll second that. This year the choice was between subscribing 
to 'Science' and 'Nature' (total approximately £250 for the year), or a 
new refrigerator for the kitchen. Just installed the fridge and I've 
still got £40 to pay to get rid of the old one. As someone who 
maintains a strong interest in what I studied at university, but don't 
actually work with, I find online publications and the like of 
Palaeo.Electro. to be really useful.
       At least I can claim the GeolSoc dues back on expenses.
