paleonet Coastal Plain Micropaleo at 2003 AASP/CAP/NAMS Meeting

For those members of the list working with microfossils of the Atlantic or Gulf coastal plains of North America, a session of possible interest is scheduled for the 2003 joint meeting of the American Association of Stratigraphic Palynologists, the Canadian Association of Palynologists, and the North American Micropaleontological Section of SEPM.

This conference is being organized by Francine McCarthy of Brock University and will take place October 5-8, 2003 in Canada's Niagara Peninsula.  Among the many excellent symposia scheduled, submissions are solicited for a session I am helping organize entitled “Micropaleontology and Palynology of the Atlantic and Gulf Coastal Plains of North America.”  The abstract deadline for the meeting is May 30, 2003.

Other symposia scheduled include Land-Sea Correlation in the Quaternary/ Cenozoic; Great Lakes Palynology, Paleoecology & Archeology; Origins and Evolution of Microfossils; Micropaleontological Applications in Geoarchaeological Studies; Pragmatic Palynology - Melissopalynology, Forensic Palynology, etc.; and Micropaleontological Applications in Ecology and Paleocology.  Interesting field trips to nice locations are also planned.

More complete information on this conference is available at http://www.palynology.org/meet_AASP36.html.

(…and apologies to those who get hit by copies from multiple list-servers!)

Thank you,

Pete McLaughlin
