paleonet Looking for billabong and alligator hole refs

Happy New Years fellow Paleonetters!

I am trying to track down refs and/or persons who may be able to help with the above subject. Specifically I am looking for the following:

> 1) Descriptions of modern billabongs and croc holes including size, areal
> extent, depth, numbers per unit area, sed/strat etc.

> 2) Paleocology and preservation in the geologic record and taxanomic
diversity.

> 3) Examples (if any) from prehistory including taphonnomy, stratigraphy and
> paleosol types. Mesozoic examples most appreciated!

> 4) Or failing the above, what one might expect to see in a putative
"fossil"
> croc hole.

5) And any refs on recognized croc/alligator coprolites

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Tom
