The next annual meeting of the American society for integrative and comparative biology (SICB) is in Anaheim, CA, from 2-6th January 2002. This relatively informal meeting is for those interested in the broad topic of 'zoology'. I would like to draw pal(a)eonetters' attention to two symposia in particular: the Cambrian Explosion: putting the pieces together (convenors: G.E. Budd and K. Peterson) and New perspectives on the origin of metazoan complexity (convenors: Ruth A. Dewel and Jim Gehling): both have a thrilling line-up of speakers. For those wishing to submit papers to the contributed sessions for these symposia (or others) please see the website below: http://www.sicb.org/meetings/index.php3 Deadline for abstract submission is 7th September.
