Roger Fry has a point, but I would only like to dream of a day when our natural history is not up for sale to the highest bidder and is shipped to some place thousands of miles away, or when midnight maruaders take the risk of getting shot by excavating on public lands or parks, all for the sake of the almighty currency. I would also like to dream of the day that before an important, rare, or fascinating fossil is removed from the area where it was discovered, local scientists and children in schools get to learn from it. We must also count our blessings in that these "ameteurs," as we call them at least acknowledge science, instead of blindly and ignorantly denying the hard and methodical work of science in general and paleontology in specific. Much as the modern creationists like "Dr." Carl Baugh. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Joseph Hall Research Student of Paleontology/Geology OKAMP-SMETE Scholar Oklahoma State University "Even the smallest of prayers whispered in the most violent of storms is heard by God." -Joseph Hall "Never kick a fresh turd on a hot day." -Harry S.
