next - I applaude your effort with your students.  I am a member of a forum
on Compuserve that is dedicated to paleontology and for the last two years
we have "helped" two teachers (one in the Bronx, NY and the other in
Pleasanton, CA)  with second grade classes stimulate their students. They
had their students write a letter asking questions (generally dinosaur
related but not always) and then we distributed these letters to various
forum members throughout the world who answered each child's question.  All
of the response letters were gathered and once again, I "collected" some
fossils from the field and sent them to the kids.

If we can ever be of service to you and your class - please let me know via
e-mail off list.  Roger_F_Fry@compuserve.com   We get a kick out of it and
the teachers get some help!!
