re: Digital Images

OK. For all of you who positively refuse to read software manuals ;-> here
are complete instructions on how to copy web page graphics using Netscape.

For Wintel software and systems with a 2-button mouse:

1.) Place you cursor over the graphic you wish to copy.
2.) Press the secondary (usually the right) MouseButton.
3.) Select "Save this image as..." from the pop-up menu.

For Mac software:

1.) Place you cursor over the graphic you wish to copy.
2.) Press the "Option" key and the MouseButton at the same time.
3.) Select "Save this image as..." from the pop-up menu.

For pages that only have a single graphic (like the demo image I put up)
you can use this alternative procedure which will work on software for both
platforms:

1.) Go to the "File" pull-down-menu and select "Save as..."
2.) On the "Save as..." dialog box select "Source" from the pop-up menu at
the bottom [Note: the default is "Text"]

Once you've got the copied image on your hard disk you can use a variety of
software (e.g., Graphic Converter) to read the .gif or .jpeg image and save
it in whatever format is most convenient for your graphics software to work
with. I suppose "intuitive" is in the eye of the beholder. However, I've
found that this works a lot better than e-mail as a general-purpose image
transfer technique.
