POSITION AVAILABLE The University of California Museum of Paleontology has a permanent Museum Preparator position available to be filled at 75% time; opportunity for 100% time possible. Applicant must have experience in cleaning and preserving fossil animals and plants. Degree and/or experience in geology, paleontology, or zoology. Interest and/or experience in exhibit preparation helpful. The position requires knowledge of paleontology, anatomy and fossil preparation, including molding and casting techniques. Familiarity with the conservation of natural history collections useful. Artistic and organizational skills valuable. Experience with pneumatic, electric and basic fossil preparation tools for laboratory, general exhibit and shop work required. Applicant must demonstrate flexibility and be willing to supervise volunteers and participate in aspects of the Museum's public outreach programs.
