LECTURESHIP
in
APPLIED PALAEONTOLOGY AND BIOSTRATIGRAPHY

Applications are invited for a Lectureship in Applied Palaeontology and
Biostratigraphy. This position is intended to strengthen the links between
the Department of Geology, Imperial College and the Department of
Palaeontology, Natural History Museum which are located 200 metres apart on
the South Kensington site. The lecturer will be provided with office
accommodation and full facilities in the Natural History Museum to enable
her/him to interact fully with this outstanding and unique palaeontology
research group.

The successful applicant will have proven ability to carry out original
research in applied palaeontology and biostatigraphy with applications in
fields such as palaeoenvironmental analysis, sequence stratigraphy and
reservoir characterisation.

The lecturer will also be required to contribute to the teaching of
palaeontology and biostatigraphy in BSc, MSci and MSc courses and to
coordinate the teaching provided by NHM staff for the the Imperial College
Geology Department.

The current lecturer scale ranges from œ14,317 to œ26430 (under review) plus
a London allowance of œ2134 per annum.
