If PALEONET were set up so that only subscribers could post to it,
then these "bounces" wouldn't be seen here.  But then people with
useful items, like job notices, could not post without subscribing
first.

On the other hand, a good mailing list manager (MLM) program should
be able to recognise all e-mail coming from the user MAILER-DAEMON
to be bounced e-mail that should be sent directly to the list owner.
MAILER-DAEMON is a special alias reserved for automatic handling of
bounced e-mail.
