Due to a sudden move by a faculty member of our department into a nearly full-time administrative position, the Department of Geosciences at Indiana-Purdue University at Fort Wayne has a temporary teaching position available. The job is for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year if agreeable both to the employee and the department. We seek somebody to teach introductory geology lecture and labs. Salary would be c. $32,000 plus medical benefits, for 6 credit hours each semester. The specialty of the person we hire is open, but because we are paleontologists, we would naturally enjoy seeing it go to another paleo person. The job would be perfect for somebody who has just finished up and hasn't found a tenure-track position yet, or maybe somebody who is close to finishing PhD work. Although teaching the courses is the big thing we need, there are certainly research opportunities at IPFW, and we encourage persons who might be interested in collaborating with us on some of our projects, or who have interesting strat/paleo projects of their own, to apply. Farlow works on vertebrate paleontology and ichnology, and Crow on reef paleoecology. We need to move pretty quickly to get this position filled for the Fall semester, so if you are interested let us know as soon as possible. The person to contact is our chair, Dr. Anne Argast; her email address is argast@ipfw.edu James O. Farlow Christopher Crow
