paleonet STRI Fellowships



The Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI), a division of the 
Smithsonian Institution headquartered in the Republic of Panama, 
offers fellowships for research based at its facilities.  Disciplines 
include ecology, anthropology, paleontology,  evolution, systematics, 
behavior and physiology of tropical plants and animals.

*	Earl S. Tupper 3-year postdoctoral fellowship (deadline: 
Jan15).  Applications should include detailed research proposal with 
budget, curriculum vitae, 2 letters of reference, names and telephone 
numbers of 3 additional references and reprints of most important 
papers. Applicants should consult with STRI scientists who will serve 
as advisor before submitting final application.  Annual stipend up to 
$30,000 with yearly travel and research allotments. Proposals that 
include comparative research in other tropical countries will be

*	Predoctoral, postdoctoral, senior postdoctoral (up to 1 year) 
and 10-week fellowships are available through the Smithsonian's 
Office of Fellowships & Grants, Washington, DC.  (deadline: Jan15).
