No, I didn't mean it to sound like we're too stupid to know what we
want.  But I'm always a little suspicious of other people making
decisins that affect me and not have my interests represented.  Like the
Boston Tea Party = No Taxation Without Representation!

If professional paleontologists are to make decisions about the
avocational paleontologists, should they at least solicit their input? 
And are the interests of the two really one and the same?  

I was trying to be a little sarcastic I guess.  I apologize for letting
personal feelings enter into the discussion.
