Sue, etcetera

All,
For those of you who may have missed the American Scene on the CBS
Evening News (8/21), they featured an interview with a representative of
Southerby's auction house and showed several pieces of "Sue", including
the skull, an arm bone, a loose (large) tooth and a claw. Also a very
'interesting' interpretation of Sue by the auctioner who apparently was
much more used to dealing with 'fine art' than fine fossils. The
auction is apparently scheduled for October and the bidding starts at $1
Million.

They also showed two commercial paleontologists from Great Bend, Kansas,
who have collected another, much larger T-rex from South Dakota, have
prepared it and are now trying to sell it for $12 million.....See "Mr
Z-Rex" at:

....and I am unaffiliated with either one.....cheers!
