Dear Micro/palaeontologists, First of all, apologies to multiple recipients as this was cross-posted on Ostracon and Palaeonet. This is to announce the second circular for the 13th International Symposium on Ostracoda (ISO'97) to be held at the University of Greenwich, U.K. July, 1997. The 2nd Circular is *now* available on the Web at:- http://www.uea.ac.uk/menu/acad_depts/env/all/resgroup/ISO97/2circulr.htm Printed copies are currently being mailed to ostracod workers but do be patient as it may take some weeks to complete the distribution, it is much quicker by WWW..... Although the title may suggest a very specialised conference it is the aim of the organising committee to convene a meeting which explores the role of ostracod research within the broader spectrum of environmental and earth sciences, this includes fields such as palaeolimnology, palaeoceanography, sea-level change studies and geochemistry. We also hope to broaden the scope of the meeting by inviting keynote speakers ( who are not necessarily ostracod workers) to address the main themes of the meeting. Finally, the proceedings will appear in three separate thematic volumes of internationally respected journals thus achieving both high quality, peer-reviewed publications and a wide circulation. For further details of the meeting, the main themes and registration please call up the WWW Site above.
