Of all 32-bit pc OS's currently in use worldwide (OS/2, Win'95, Win NT, Mac, Linux, etc.), OS/2 currently has the widest base. I have used and programmed Macs and Intel based machines, along with SUN and UNIX for several years now, and have seen the changes that the systems have undergone. If you've ever used LINUX or OS/2 Warp, you'll quickly agree that the Macs and Windows based machines leave a lot to be desired. I am a fan of the Power PC chip (which by the way is not restricted to the Macintosh!), but it has yet to outperform high-end, and MUCH cheaper, Intel Pentiums in anything but the most complex graphic renderings. Considering the low cost of Intel machines, and OS/2 Warp, I really recommend that folks check it out. And IBM does not think that OS/2 is dead. Their recent decision to pre-load ALL IBM Pc machines with the system, unless otherwise requested, is good evidence of this! Peter Roopnarine p.s. Good for Apple and their last quarter sales. They need it! >
