Dear PaleoNet subscribers, I checked around in Usenet about the "xxx-1" and the other virus attack warning, since both seemed very unlikely. Both warnings appear to be hoaxes. I've been using mailing lists etc. for over a decade, and every year in late December and around April 1 nonsense like this makes the rounds. These pranks are a huge waste of our time, especially when they are taken at face value, and passed around. So please, before passing on a note like this, try to find out if it is real.
