Dear Paleonetters:
I'm looking for information on or examples
of organisms in the marine realm that
eat bones of DEAD vertebrate carcasses (large fish, marine mammals). I believe that ichnologists call them bioeroders
in general, and more specifically skeletophagos. I would appreciate if any
of you could provide me with examples in modern or ancient settings,
references, or any other
clue.
