Re: paleonet Paleone:fabrication of nannofossil papers

Dear Paleoneters,
Though I (and colleagues) are still documenting a case of fraud: the Imam's case, though Mostafa Imam is Egyptian ...
(first report published by Aguirre: http://www.up.ac.za/organizations/societies/psana/Plagiarism_in_Palaeontology-A_New_Threat_Within_The_Scientific_Community.pdf)
Though Michael Jordon and now David Canu report an "alleged" case of paleontological fraud ...
I can hardly support a report stating that "in the Arab World (...) they commonly plagiarized our papers and then modify them with some fabrications and stealing of images from plates of any nannofossil papers then published their researches in local journals. These are their common behavior" ...
Is this a side effect of September 11th?
There are "black sheeps" everywhere (not only in the "Arab World") ... I heard of cases in France, in Spain, in the USA, ...
There are nice people everywhere too ;;; and, regarding the Imam's case for instance, we found some support in Egypt to help us "cleaning the house"!

Regarding the new "alleged" case, I would like to see evidences!
If it is documented you should publish it avoiding "short" sentences as the one quoted above ...

Reporting a fraud is one thing, trying to find ways to fight frauds is another (the paper we are currently writing is discussing some proposals).
