NEW DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION: OCTOBER 15, 2006

 

Dear Colleagues:

 

A couple of key bits of updated information about an upcoming micropaleontology session…

 

1. The abstract deadline for the 2007 AAPG/SEPM Annual Meeting has been revised to October 15 to encourage participation.

 

2. NAMS, the North American Micropaleontology Section of SEPM, has broadened the scope of our micropaleontology poster session at this meeting to encompass any subject related to the application of microfossils to solving problems in the geosciences.

 

As a reminder, this year's AAPG/SEPM meeting will be held in Long Beach, California, April 1 to 4. We hope to have a healthy NAMS-SEPM session in an environment that encourages cross-fertilization of ideas between industry, academic, and government practitioners of micropaleontology specializing in a variety of fossil groups. The website for information on the meeting and electronic submittal of abstracts is http://www.aapg.org/longbeach/. And, we should note that an invitation to submit does not guarantee acceptance into the program; final decisions for acceptance rest with the organizing technical program committee.
