paleonet To study paleontology

Hi all,

This is simply a humorous anecdote I feel obligated to share. Anyone
with even the slightest interest in paleontology should find it
amusing. If you don't like to smile, delete this message.

Last weekend I was at a picnic for local camera collectors. Yes,
people collect cameras and yes, I am one of them (see www.paleopix.com).

It seems that at least a third of the attendees were octogenarians,
one of whom was a geologist. I was explaining to him what I do.
Another octogenarian who was listening in on our conversation
suddenly interjected, "You study alien policy?" After a few moments,
some strange looks, and a "huh?" or two, I realized what he had heard.

I had told the first man I studied 'paleontology.' The second heard
'alien-policy.'

So remember to carry on our proud tradition of alien-policy and enjoy
telling others that you are an 'alien-policist.'

Have a good weekend!

~Penny
