Dear all,
While reading the extensive synonymy lists in Berggrens
'micropaleontology' publication (1), I noticed several
times a notation I don't understand.
It is the use of a "non" followed by a Author name,
often in Brackets after the synonym list entry e.g.:
non implies that Berggren thinks that people who have illustrated the
species somewhere have been wrong, i.e. emphasising that this synonymy is
wrong.
in this example
Berggren accepts the illustrations in Luterbacher and Premoli Silva 1964
to be Globigerina cf. fringa,
whereas the original by Subbotina is not the species Globigerina
cf.fringa but something else.
