Vertebrate Palaeontologist (Dinosauria) ­ The Royal Ontario Museum

Natural History Department

The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) is Canada¹s pre-eminent international museum
and houses some of Canada¹s most important collections in both Natural
History and World Cultures.  The ROM currently invites applications for the
position of an entry-level Associate Curator of Vertebrate Palaeontology to
conduct field and collections-related research on Dinosauria.

The successful applicant will be expected to:  develop a program of
externally funded scholarly research and publications; curate and continue
building the disciplinary collection of vertebrate fossils, and participate
in the development and rotation of new permanent galleries, travelling
exhibitions and other public programming.
 
Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in systematic palaeontology,
and be well versed in anatomy, evolutionary biology, or a related field at
the time of appointment; familiarity with current phylogenetic
methodologies;  a record of scholarly publication in peer-reviewed journals,
be qualified for cross-appointment to the University of Toronto and be
eligible for NSERC funding in support of research (ie. proven record of
successful grant applications). Experience in a museum or equivalent
environment is preferable.
 
Salary:  Salary and rank are commensurate with experience, as stipulated in
the Collective Agreement between the ROM and ROM Curatorial Association.
