A federal court decided (KITZMILLER, et al. v. DOVER SCHOOL
DISTRICT) that so-called "Intelligent Design" cannot be
promoted as an "alternative" to scientific evolution in public
school classes.
U.S. District Judge John E. Jones III issued a 139-page opinion stated
that "ID" promoters could not use science classes as a forum
to promote their religious beliefs. Jones noted, "It is ironic
that several of these individuals who so staunchly and proudly touted
their religious convictions in public, would time and time again lie to
cover their tracks and disguise the real purpose behind the ID
policy."
