I was Norm Sohl's research assistant
in the early stages of my career. I have a small set of some of his
publications if that would be of use. As several other people have
mentioned, Warren Allmon at PRI is the expert on Turritellidae. Do
you know the approximate age of the specimen? Norm's work was primarily
Mesozoic - Warren's Tertiary. Also, if you're doing a search, the
genus Turritella is Cenozoic. The subgenus Haustator was elevated
to genus level for the Mesozoic members of the group.
