Rich -----Original Message----- From: Lucy E Edwards [mailto:leedward@usgs.gov] Sent: Wednesday, November 24, 2004 9:19 AM To: paleonet@nhm.ac.uk Subject: paleonet Postdoctoral research opportunity with Dec. 1 closing date! Dear Paleonetters. Wright Horton asked me to circulate this. Please note that the position description allows the researcher broad flexibility. Lucy Edwards ************************************************************************** We are still seeking applicants for Mendenhall Postdoctoral Research Opportunity 13 on "Impact-Related Processes: ICDP-USGS Deep Corehole in the Central Crater of the Chesapeake Bay Impact Structure" [ http://geology.usgs.gov/postdoc/2006/opps/opp13.html ]. The description allows flexibility in the types of research that can be proposed and does not require previous experience with impact craters. The postdoctoral fellow will also have responsibilities as Sampling Coordinator for the ICDP core, so experience on a large scientific drilling project would be helpful. The Mendenhall Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program is described at http://geology.usgs.gov/postdoc/ and the application closing date is December 1. Those interested should be aware that this program "gives strong priority to U.S. citizens and nationals..." Please forward this information to anyone who might know of a good candidate. Anyone interested should contact one or more of the listed research advisers immediately. Thank you. ******************************************** J.
