RE: paleonet FW: SESAR: Solid Earth Sample Registry



Thanks Meor!  That certainly is an unfortunate choice of terms for
Malaysians or others who speak Malay.  However, I don't think that this will
limit usage of the term, since it is an acronym (SESAR, Solid Earth SAmple
Registry) and the number will be referred to as an IGSN (International
Geological Sample Number) paralleling the ISBN number used for books.  I
would guess that just about any term chosen will have an inappropriate
meaning in one of the many languages around the world.  Many thanks for
calling this to our attention!

Just a note of possible interest,coincidentally
'sesar' in malay means 'fault' in the geological sense
