paleonet Early Triassic Symposium

Title: Early Triassic Symposium
I apologize if you’ve already gotten this e-mail; I’ve been having technical problems.  If not, then:

I’d like to draw attention to a symposium that Frank Corsetti and I are organizing for the annual GSA meeting in Denver in November.  The session is titled:

Anatomy of an Anachronistic Period: The Early Triassic Environment and its Effect on the History of Life

The description that will appear in GSA Today is:

The Early Triassic was one of the most unique periods in Earth history.  This session will examine the usual nature of environmental conditions during the period as well as paleobiological trends across the critical interval between the End-Permian extinction and initiation of the biotic recovery in the early Middle Triassic.

Abstracts can be submitted via GSA’s website (http://geosociety.org/) from April 1-July 13.

We’re looking forward to what should be a very interesting session!

Sincerely,

Adam Woods
