ACTING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, Department
of Earth and Space Sciences, University of Washington.
We are seeking to fill a temporary
teaching/research faculty position in the area of Geobiology. The
initial appointment will be for one academic year (9 month term) with
the possibility of renewal for a second year. Applicants should have
the Ph.D. degree by the start of appointment and will teach an
introductory course for non-majors, a core course for undergraduate
majors, and an advanced undergraduate/graduate course in their area of
expertise, one course per quarter. Research area within geobiology is
open; opportunities for collaboration exist with the Burke Museum,
Astrobiology Program, Program on Climate Change, and departmental
research groups in isotopic geochemistry, sedimentology/stratigraphy,
Quaternary studies and geomorphology, amongst others. The starting
date is September 16th, 2004. Applications, including a curriculum
