paleonet Gomphotherium versus dinotherium

The African Savanha is collapsed quite often collapsed by the presence of a
laege proboscidean.
How is it possible that during the Inferior Miocene in the Iberian Peninsula
two large proboscideans such as gomphotherium and dinotherium co-live
together in a Savanha?

I cannot find any publication that answers this question...Even though this
could be because they feed on different sources of plants!

Any suggestions?/

Yes, we did produce a near-perfect republic. But will they keep it? Or will
they, in the enjoyment of plenty, lose the memory of freedom? Material
abundance without character is the path of destruction.---Thomas Jefferson
