The new Treatise volume (Williams, Brunton, and Carson, et al., 2000, vol. H3) has Chonopectidae on p. 574-576, in the superfamily Strophalosioidea. They cite Brunton, Lazarev, and Grant, 1995, p. 931, for elevating it to a family. On the general topic of brachiopods, it may be worth noting to the list that the widely used name Neocrania is a junior homonym of a moth. The replacement name for the brachiopod is Novocrania, if I remember correctly. Dr. David Campbell Old Seashells University of Alabama Biodiversity & Systematics Dept.
