RE: paleonet sequence stratigraphy

If you need a good reference on sequence stratigraphy the publication from last year's GCSSEPM Bob Perkins Research Conference is just what you need.

ExxonMobil (Kirt Campion and Vitor Abreu) and BP (Art Donovan) do a
sequence stratigraphy short course for graduate students at most GSA
and AAPG annual meetings. They have even done them for some of the
international AAPG meetings. Check the programs for these associations
meetings to see if they are planned in the future. They are usually
pre-meeting and are always free for students. Insider secret #1: these
courses are really a recruiting tool, so if you attend one, don't be a
slacker if you want a job with them! Insider secret #2: They largely
use the same exercises as used in the corporate in-house sequence
stratigraphy courses, so they are definitely a great way to get an
appreciation and understanding of the methodology.
