DIRECTOR: COLLEGE OF EARTH and MINERAL SCIENCES MUSEUM We are seeking a director who will oversee the development of a new museum facility that builds on existing strengths but more fully encompasses the breadth and excitement of the disciplines represented in our College. The EMS museum currently possesses a world-class collection of mineral and rock specimens, original artwork of historic significance focused on the mining and manufacturing industries, and significant collections of fossils, ceramics, instruments, and artifacts of science and industry. The responsibilities for this position include: development of exhibits that reflect the expertise and research innovations of the College's departments and institutes; creation of K-12 educational materials and programs; design of temporary exhibits with the ability to travel to other museums; supervision of museum staff and volunteers; overseeing the Museum holdings; writing and managing successful grant proposals for exhi bits and technical project funding; assistance in fund-raising for the Museum's endowment; participation in the teaching and research mission of the College. This directorship is a standing academic position and can be a tenure-track, junior-level position for a Ph.D. scientist. Outstanding senior-level applicants will be considered. .
