NEW DIRECTIONS IN RESEARCH AND EXPLORATION

General Information
The GAC Newfoundland Section Spring Technical Meeting will be held 
February 24 and 25 at the Alexander Murray and S. J. Carew Buildings, 
Memorial University, St. John's. A stimulating technical program will 
be offered that will attract an audience from academic, government 
and private sectors.

Meeting Themes
This year's meeting will include diverse and eclectic technical 
presentations, with an emphasis upon new directions and ideas in 
academic and government research, and in our active mineral and 
petroleum exploration sectors.

Student Presentation Awards
Several prizes will be awarded for the best presentations made by 
graduate and senior undergraduate students.

Food and Social Events
The Alexander Murray Geology Club at Memorial University will provide 
lunches. An evening reception will be held at the student pub 
"Bitters" on Monday February 24 (5:30 to 7:30 PM). These events are 
not included with the registration fee, but will be reasonably priced.

Registration Fees
Registration fees will be $45 for professionals and $10 for students, 
until February 14, 2003. On-site registration will cost an additional 
$5 per person. Fees include GAC Newfoundland membership.
