Palaeontologist
The Department of Palaeontology
of The Natural History Museum, London seeks a researcher specializing
in the field of dinosaurs who can apply their expertise to systematic,
phylogenetic and palaeobiological studies.
You should have broad interests in studying the fossil record, a good
working knowledge across the whole field of fossil reptile groups, and
the potential to contribute to ongoing research in a variety of Museum
palaeontological, evolutionary, and global change research
programmes.
You must have a Ph.D. or equivalent, have published papers in dinosaur
research, the ability to generate external income and to communicate
science to a wide audience. You should also be a self-motivated
researcher, willing to contribute to Museum media initiatives and
outreach programmes.
Relevant post-doctoral research, experience of grant applications,
teaching and outreach experience, collections-based research and/or
knowledge of curatorial procedures are highly desirable, as are good
organisational and team-working/ collaborative skills, and an
outward-going personality, are also desirable. The position will be
tenure track with a starting salary in the region of £25,000
p.a.
