paleonet Final Reminder for IPC2002

Dear Paleonetters,

This comes to you as a FINAL REMINDER that MARCH 30 is the deadline for submission of Registration Form, submission of Abstract(s) and Payment of all relevant Excursion and Congress fees associated with the First International Palaeontological Congress (IPC2002) to be held in Sydney, Australia from 6-10 July, 2002. An administrative late fee will be imposed on all registrations received after March 30. The IPC2002 Web page provides details about all aspects of the congress: http://www.es.mq.edu.au/MUCEP/ipc2002/index.htm

Electronic copies of the Second Circular (pdf) and Registration Form (rtf and Word doc) can be downloaded from http://www.es.mq.edu.au/MUCEP/ipc2002/downloads.htm

The Registration Form lists all costs associated with the Excursions and Congress. Details on method of payment for IPC2002 can be found at http://www.es.mq.edu.au/MUCEP/ipc2002/second_circular/registration.htm

All the latest news/updates/corrections/alterations concerning the Congress and associated Excursions can be found at http://www.es.mq.edu.au/MUCEP/ipc2002/new.htm

Some important news that intending Registrants should know:

1. Pre-3 Congress Excursion examining Terminal Proterozoic-Cambrian sequences of the Flinders Ranges, South Australia is now oversubscribed and cannot accept any more participants. Some of the other excursions, such as Post 4 (Heron Island GBR), Post 5 (Palaeozoics of NE Queensland, Broken River region) and Post 6 (Canning Basin) are also proving very popular and are filling quickly. To reserve a place on any of the excursions you will need to Register before the MARCH 30 deadline.

2. Accommodation at Dunmore Lang College on the Macquarie University campus is rapidly approaching capacity. Intending participants are strongly advised to pay for Registration and accommodation before March 30 to secure a room at Dunmore Lang. Of course, all delegates are welcome to book directly with other accommodation providers near the Congress venue (see http://www.es.mq.edu.au/MUCEP/ipc2002/second_circular/accommodation.htm for more details).

3. When filling in the Registration Form, please remember to indicate your mid-congress excursion preference. We need to know numbers for each option in order to organise transport. The cost of the mid-congress excursion is covered by your Registration fee. If you have already Registered and have not filled in this portion of the Registration Form, please let us know by e-mail of your choice.

I look forward to your participation in IPC2002

Sincerely,

Glenn A. Brock
