To all of PaleoNet: The Invertebrate Paleontology section of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County has recently regained some of the losses it suffered in the early 1990's due to cut backs and layoffs. Dr. Kenneth Johnson (PhD University of Iowa), a specialist in Oligocene through Recent corals of the Caribbean and the Indo-Pacific, came on board as curator last August. My successor, new IP Collection Manager, Dr. Harry Filkorn (PhD Kent St. University) a specialist in Cretaceous corals, started this week. My tenure as part-time Collection Manager of Invertebrate Paleontology and Malacology will shift exculsively to Malacology once Harry is familiar with the IP collection and various LACM functions. Therefore, from now on for all matters regarding loans, collection visits, locality searches, etc., contact Ken at (213) 763-3489 or (213) 744-4367 or <kjohnson@nhm.org> or Harry at (213) 744-3485 or <hfilkorn@nhm.org> In the interim I can be contacted in IP on Thursdays at (213) 744-4369 and other days in Malacology at (213) 763-3376. This decision to remain in Malacology on a full-time basis will by no means end my research interest in fossil mollusks. Sincerely, aloha, Lindsey **************************************************************************** ******** Lindsey T.
