Postdoctoral Research Associate in Micropaleontology Louisiana State University The Department of Geology and Geophysics, Louisiana State University, anticipates an opening for a postdoctoral researcher to work on a project entitled Foraminiferal Communities of Bathyal and Abyssal Hydrocarbon Seeps, Northern Gulf of Mexico. The project is expected to be supported by a grant from the Minerals Management Service, U.S. Department of the Interior, and to begin in October, 2001. The appointment will be for a two-year period, with a competitive salary. The work will include foraminiferal taxonomy, scanning electron microscopy, generation and analysis of numerical data, report writing, and preparation of manuscripts for publication. The basic requirement for the position is a Ph.D. in geological or biological sciences. Candidates who have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. but have not been officially awarded the degree will be considered. Applications will be considered until the position is filled.
