Such a book would certainly fill a gap in early science education. All kids seem naturally intrigued by animals to some degree, and providing an early introduction on how all beasties are related could only improve scientific literacy. Roy didn't provide much info on the book's structure, but I look forward to hearing paleonetters thoughts on possible approaches. One comment on the title: I would shy away from the "climb from slime" phrase. Although witty and catchy, it smacks of a "scalae naturae" paradigm. How about: "Molecular to macroevolutionary hierarchical diversification from a primordial inorganic Lego set". <-- Just kidding. Stephen +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Stephen A.
