FIRST INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON EVOLUTION OF LIFE ON THE EARTH
     Tomsk State  University  (West Siberia,  Russia) cordially invite
you to present a paper at the upcoming Symposium to be held in Novem-
ber 27-29,  1997.  The  scientific programme will cover all aspects of
evolutionary researches including speciation,  phylogeny, evolution of
paleoecosystems and other.  Papers may be delivered in English or Rus-
sian. Abstracts of 2 complete pages must be written on standard A4 pa-
per and  typed single to double spaced.  Do not send abstract sheet by
fax. Use preferable diskette sending in WinWord6.0 of Times New  Roman
14 font, single space the text, alignment of paragraph on the formate,
indents of the first line; type a title in capital letters with double
spacing between it and author(s)/Institution. Begin the text two lines
below the last line of the title/author section,  without pictures and
references. Completed Intention form should be submitted no later than
January 31, 1997. Absolute Deadline for returning of Registration form
and sending  of Abstracts is 1 May,  1997.  The Proceedings containing
all papers presented in the oral and poster sessions will be published
shortly after the Symposium.  Registration fee is $ 50 (US). These ex-
penses will be paid at the meeting.
     Tomsk region  occupies  a great place of the West Siberia.  It is
317 thousands kilometers square. Tomsk is the large siberian center of
culture, education  and science.  Tomsk State University is the oldest
in Asian part of Russia.  The first paleontological collections for it
were received  in  19th century.  Now the funds of the Paleontological
Museum include more than 60 scientific collections on Devonian to Car-
boniferous, Jurassic to Cretaceous, Paleogene to Neogene flora, Paleo-
zoic brachiopods,  molluscs, corals, stromatoporata, bryozoans, crino-
ids and large Cenozoic Vertebrates.  Micropaleontological section con-
sist of foraminiferal, radiolarian, ostracodian, conodont, tentaculite
and spore-pollenial collections. Tomsk can be reached by air from Mos-
cow (Domodedovo).
